Hotels:

Hotel shuttles: Our hotels are operating shuttles to & from U of L campus or within a 3 mile radius, 24 hours/ day, so you can park at the hotel and take the hotel shuttle to and from campus. Ask at the front desk to request the hotel shuttle and allow 15 minutes call time and <15 minutes travel time. To return, call the front desk from your departure point to request a hotel shuttle back.

Parking

We strongly encourage you to carpool with your fellow scientists. Parking at U of L's urban campus can be challenging.

Finding a carpool: If you're a KAS member you can get a list of fellow attendees to help you track down a carpool, after you've registered for the meeting.

Log in at the KAS website with username & password.
Under "My Membership Information" to go "My Events"
Choose "Prior Event Registrations" and then select 2025 KAS/KJAS meeting
If you click on the View Event Portal icon there is an attendee list there.

How to Park on Friday 11/21

If you are staying at Hampton or Springhill Suites (800 or 820 Phillips Lane, 40209) you may park at the hotel for free + take the hotel shuttle to and from campus. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the shuttle call & transport time.

Parking is available in the Blue lot at the Speed School of Engineering  (132 Eastern Parkway) and in the 3rd St. South (Black) lot 2531 S. 3rd St.  There is a $3 fee on Friday to park here, and no charge on Saturday. Reserve a parking pass on your KAS Registration form.

It's an 8 minute walk to the west side of the Student Activities Center from the Blue lot, and a 16 minute walk from the Black lot. If you prefer to take the campus shuttle, TARC #94 will pick you up at 3rd St./ Eastern Parkway. There will be no charge (tell them  you're with the KAS meeting). Take the shuttle four or five stops to the Student Activities Center entrance on Floyd St. Enter the Student Activities Center and follow signs for KAS registration. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the parking & shuttle.

Paid parking is very limited on campus. Find public parking on this map. Metered street parking on S. Floyd St. south of Eastern Parkway is short-term only.

Didn't get a KAS parking pass in advance? Engineering’s Black lot 2531 S. 3rd St. also has hourly parking on the ParkMobile app.

Arriving After 4pm Friday:  Special event parking in the Floyd Garage (2126 South Floyd Street) is $5.00

How to Park on Saturday 11/22

If you are staying at Hampton or Springhill Suites (800 or 820 Phillips Lane, 40209) you may park at the hotel for free + take the hotel shuttle to and from campus. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the shuttle call & transport time.

Please park at Engineering’s Blue lot (123 Eastern Parkway) or 3rd St. South (Black) lot, (2531 S. 3rd St).  On Saturday U of L will not be ticketing, and there will be no parking fee.

Food

If you have dietary needs we need to know about,  please indicate that on your registration form in the appropriate field. We are working with U of L catering and we will do our best to accommodate. 

Registration includes light breakfasts, and Friday reception. Friday and Saturday lunch is on your own, unless you are RSVPing for the STEM Careers Junior Academy lunch on Friday or the Annual Business Meeting & lunch on Saturday. Box lunches will also be available by pre-order on Saturday.

On campus, options are the Student Activities Ville Grill at U of Lfood court or the Ville Grill Campus Dining, open Friday and Saturday 10am-4:30 and is 11 minutes' walk from the Speed School of Engineering.  ($10.59 cash/ card)

KAS is making a Mothers room available.

Gender-neutral restrooms are available.
