  1. The Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools Coordinator will coordinate the Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools (KGHS) program, which encourages students in Kentucky K-12 schools to complete projects that improve the sustainability and health of their schools. The person in this position will: Promote KGHS to teachers and administrators;Work with applicants for nomination to the US Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools program; Conduct teacher professional development workshops; Research and share best practices for K-12 environmental education; Maintain records of school service learning projects; Administer grants to participating schools; Plan and coordinate the annual KGHS and KY NEED Youth Summit and Awards Luncheon; Foster collaborations with businesses; Travel regularly around Kentucky to participating schools; Travel infrequently outside of Kentucky for conferences. Work up to 100 hours per month (or about 22.5 hours per week);
    Be required to work from the KEEC office in Frankfort approximately once per week, with the option to do the remainder remotely.
    Receive $20 per hour (no benefits).
    Receive an agency laptop.
    Receive reimbursement for travel expenses (except to and from Frankfort).

  2. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will:
    Research, write, and distribute social media posts, email newsletters, news releases, and other informational materials for all agency programs, including the Environmental Education Leadership Corps, Professional Environmental Educator Certification, and Kentucky Green & Healthy Schools programs.
    Design agency publications and marketing materials.
    Update and maintain agency social media accounts.
    Update and maintain the agency website Work up to 100 hours per month (or about 22.5 hours per week).
    Coordinate with the communications staff of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
    Travel regularly around Kentucky to cover agency events and other environmental education events. Be required to work from the KEEC office in Frankfort approximately once per week, with the option to do the remainder remotely.
    Receive $20 per hour (no benefits).
