Bench Talk celebrates four-year anniversary

Rob Weber, KAS Communications and Policy Director

Congratulations to Bench Talk: The Week in Science! Last month the radio show that delivers science news and features to listeners marked its 150th show with a four-year anniversary celebration!

Dave Robinson, the founder of Bench Talk, says that the show has been a collaborative effort with his fellow KAS members from the start.

“We are trying to dispel the three biases the general public has about science; that it is boring, irrelevant or too difficult to comprehend," Robinson said. "We do this by using simple language, and reporting on a variety of topics in the natural and social sciences, as well as politics, ethics, technology, and STEM education.  We try to discuss topics that are on people’s minds, and we aren’t afraid of controversy.  On the other hand, a little dose of fun and trivia never hurt anyone!  People seem to wonder what the show will cover next.”

Bench Talk: The Week in Science airs on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. on Louisville Forward Radio, WFMP-LP 106.5 FM. The show is replayed on Tuesdays at 11:30 a.m. and on Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. You can listen to archived shows at https://www.forwardradio.org/bench-talk.
