KAS has adopted new Youth Protection Policies
We have created and adopted a package of documents, with the help of the McNary Group in Louisville. You'll find some of these on our website, and you'll be hearing more about them if you participate in KAS & KJAS events.

Shadowing a Scientist experience connects classroom educators with real-world climate research

On July 23, two Kentucky educators, Courtney Stronczek and Jenny Vinson, had the opportunity to step into the work of climate scientists through the KAS’s
Shadowing a Scientist program. Hosted at Western Kentucky University, the experience introduced participants to the Kentucky Climate Center, the Climate Library of the Commonwealth of Kentucky (CLoCK), and the Kentucky Mesonet, giving them a firsthand look at how weather and climate data are collected, preserved, visualized, and applied across the Commonwealth.
