Second “Kentucky Math Summit” to be held in Hopkinsville

Rob Weber

The stated objective of the meeting is “to leverage the combined expertise of math stakeholders from Kentucky to examine the state's mathematics achievement and contribute to the formulation of educational policies, including pre-service teacher preparation and evidence-based KY solutions for KY students.”

The event is moderated by the Kentucky Center for Mathematics, Kentucky Center for Teachers of Mathematics, and Kentucky Association of Mathematics Educators.

The first math summit was held on Sept. 28 in Berea. A summary of that summit’s results can be viewed here.

“We believe Kentucky solutions for Kentucky students are in the collective efficacy of all of those that are in math education across the state,” said Kelly DeLong, Executive Director of the Kentucky Center for Mathematics.
